Arena Uk Horse Premier Show

We have neglected the horses recently as they have been going to the pony premiers so thought we should give them a run….

Zodiac Z and Yazmin jump in their first ever Horse Premier and jump a double clear in the WORLD CLASS PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME CHAMPIONSHIP. This is a class for the under 23’s which qualifies for the British Open International Show at NEC in April on a point series. We have missed the first three qualifiers due to pony commitments but hope to get to one more.

Zac (Zodiac Z) finished a creditable 8th in this 1.40m class the biggest they have ever jumped.Yaz was very happy with this result.

2009 Competiton Results continued:

This summer has seen Yazmin concentrating on doing well with her pony Edsilia who she is trying to get on the John Whitaker pony Squad and then to jump in some Nation Cup teams for GREAT BRITAIN and possibly be in with a chance of getting on the Pony European team. So the horses have not been out much to any shows, in fact we asked Matt Sampson if he would take Zodiac Z (Zac) to a few shows and he did really well him and upgraded him from B to A. He won and came 2nd in two 1.25m competions and then took him to Holland and France and won a big class there had a second and a fifth. Well done Matt!

Edsilia jumped consistently well in the pony viewing trials in April and May in Wales and Yazmin and Edsilia were selected for the John Whitaker pony squad which was a great achievement. As well as Yazmin taking her GCSE’s in May and June her and Edsilia were also selected to jump on some Nation’s Cups in Grobbendonk, Belgium where the Great Britain team took GOLD! And also in Freundenberg, Germany where Great Britiain took Silver! And Edsilia was the only double clear in the Nations Cup.
Edsilia also qualifies for Horse of the Year Show.

At Scope Festival in September Edsilia won the Dunglen qualifier and came 7th in the final having a very fast time but unfortunately one fence down.

Edsilia WINS CHEVENEZ PONY GRAND PRIX!
In October We travelled a very long way to Chevenez International show in Switzerland. It was worth it as Edsilia won the Pony A Grand Prix so the journey was worth while after all. This was a superb show with technical courses and tight times so it was very good experience for Yazmin. She even got a big write up in a French pony magazine!
This was Yazmin’s last pony show with Edsilia and she was sadly sold after this to a lovely family in Norway and we wish Pierre all the very best of luck with her.

ONTO HORSES NOW!
As this is Yazmin’s last year of riding ponies she is now back into only riding horses and going into the senior classes.
Since Scope Festival in September we have managed to prise back our homebred horse Ashkari (India) who Duncan Inglis and Alex Hempleman have been quietly producing for us during the last year. They have done a very good job between them and Alex has jumped her in a couple of Foxhunter Second rounds where she has jumped superbly. She finished 5th at Pyecombe and qualified for the Foxhunter Masters at Scope where unfortunately she had the last fence down.
Yazmin took over the ride at Scope where she jumped the under 16 class and came 4th in the qualifier and 8th in the final so that was a very good start.
Yazmin then took her to:
Chevenez, Switzerland (October) and picked up 7th and 13th place in the big tour juniors.
The Hand, Somerset 3 day show (November) – 1st in 1.35 Open class, 4th in 1.40 Grand Prix. Zac was 11th In 1.25m . Graffy was 11th in 1.25m and 5th in Grand Prix.
Later in November we travelled to Neeroten, Belgium:

Graffy – Double clear in 1.30m
India – 7th in Big tour 1.40 and 6th in 1.45 Grand Prix
Zac – clear in 1.30 speed and double clear in 1.35m

From there we travelled to Hengelo in the Netherlands:

Graffy – 4 faults , clear 2nd day and 4 faults in jump off last day
Zac – 4 faults , 6th second day and 4 faults last day
India – clear first day, clear and 6th second day and 4 faults last day.

After this the horses had a well earned rest over Christmas and the New Year and then we were snowed in!
